ALASKA CONTACT DETAILS
Hey everyone,
Our cell phone doesn't work here in AK. The Bergmann Hotel in Juneau was kind enough to give us a free room, and that's where you can reach us. Dial 907-586-1690 ask for room 7, or dial 107 if you get to the hotel voice mail.
Otherwise leave a message on our cell phone and we'll check the voice mail.
Email is best though.
Also, we can fly with Trevor and Josh from today to Anchorage before 10AM. Should we go??

Its great to see you've made it to Alaska! A trip to Anchorage would be great - BUT you have to get back and and keep on track. The Western states will likely take more than a day to cross!
Also, what happened to Olympia? Will you do that later?
Good luck guys!
Take the ride... worst case you'll be stuck there instead of where you are now, but remember... Hitchhikers shouldn't turn down a ride, you don't know when another may come along!
Thanks, it's been fun following you...
Anchorage... Since it's bigger, is there more air traffic of a type that you might be able to get south??
Other: I am in NY, but if you need a place to stay in St Paul, MN post a note when you're near. I have a place you can stay, but can't get you there.
If high-flyin' Trevor and Josh can give you a lift back to Seattle (real soon) I'd say stick with them. If not, I would vote to hit the road south ASAP. "Get out of Dodge" while the gettin' is good.
Here's your Travel Map for today.
I'm so glad you guy's made it to Alaska, I've been rooting for you all the way from Fairbanks, Alaska. But I couldn't think of anything I could do. By the by... I've lived in Alaska most of my life and have never been to my own capital.
I'd say get to Anchorage. You can't drive out of Juneau right? Seriously... you have to fly or boat out. I'm pretty certain of that. So... I think you should get to Anchorage because you'll have a better shot at hitchin' back to the lower 48 that way if you need to.
oh yes!
The only reason I can see for you to head to Anchorage is that it's a busier center with road access. You'd have a better chance of getting a ride from there than from Juneau.
I'd say if you don't have a better prospect for moving on, take the ride to Anchorage. Good luck!
By the way, I'm in the lower mainland of BC, so if you wind up hitching back to the lower 48 by road, I can probably give you a ride once you get closer to the area. Keep us posted!
I agree- you have to get back to the upper Midwest before it gets EVEN COLDER than it is now!
Roberta in Illinois
As great as it would be to meet you while you are here in Juneau (I'm at the University in town on exchange from the East Coast) I would suggest heading up to Anchorage, if only because it will be easier to find a flight or even hitch on the ground to get back to the lower 48.
Ditto there...free ride to Anchorage...that would be great. But unless you guys have secured transportation back to the lower 48 it would be a little risky.
Do you guys have passports with you? Russia wouldn't be far away...:p
YES!! Go to Anchorage!
Hey guys, I moved from Juneau to Anchorage a few months ago, and I would definitely recommend heading up to Anchorage if you still can. It is difficult to get out of Juneau. You will have many more options here. Good luck!
